Do Something

About a week ago, we were able to go to Winter Jam. If you’ve never heard of Winter Jam before, it is a Christian concert tour that shows 10 bands for $10. We got to hear artists like Lauren Daigle, David Crowder, For King and Country, Matthew West, Stars Go Dim, We Are Messengers, and some other great bands. It’s always a cool thing to be able to experience being in a room with thousands of people all praising God together. It’s like a little preview of heaven!

Our favorites that night were For King and Country and Matthew West. Many of you may have heard Matthew West’s song “Do Something.” It talks about how there is so much trouble in the world like poverty and slavery. He says sometimes he just wants shake his fist at heaven and say, “God, why don’t you do something?!” And as Matthew West so boldly puts it,

God says…“I did. I created you!”

We know that something needs to be done, but too often we just rely on someone else to do it. Well when people’s eternal lives are at stake, that’s taking a pretty big and selfish risk to make by just hoping that someone else will do something about it.

I believe that most Christians would agree that the biggest problem in this world is that there are so many people who have never heard of Jesus or who have no relationship with Him. As Christians, we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

It’s not enough to do nothing. It’s time for us to do something! And it’s time for us to do it NOW.

It’s time for us to stop relying on everyone else to do the right thing. There are people every day who are dying and going to hell because they didn’t live their life in Jesus. We have the knowledge. We have the gift. God has placed the responsibility on us to make sure that the whole world hears.

Now I know that not everyone is able to pack up everything and move to another country where there are so few Christians. But you can still all play a part.

Missionaries can’t go without someone sending them.

You want to do something about the 99% of people in Ireland who don’t know Jesus as their Savior? Pray for them. Pray for the missionaries ministering to them (that’s us!). Support us financially each month so that we can stay there and show them what it’s like to have a relationship with the Maker of the universe.

But this isn’t just about supporting us. This is about all those who are lost in this world. I guarantee that there are tons of people around you who also need to know Jesus. Decide now to be the one to do something about it. Don’t sit idly by knowing full well where they are heading. Love them. Be the light. Share Jesus with them.

There are also tons of other missionaries and organizations out there who need support. Do we want you to join our team and support us? Of course. But if you don’t, please find another missionary who is trying to go out there and preach the Word, and support them. We want to encourage you to do your part to seek and save the lost!

Join the team.
Make a difference.
Do something!

If not us, then who
If not me and you
Right now, it’s time for us to do something

If not now, then when
Will we see an end
To all this pain

It’s not enough to do nothing
It’s time for us to do something

We are the salt of the earth
We are a city on a hill
But we’re never gonna change the world
By standing still
No we won’t stand still
